Olivia Colman Biography: From Norwich Schoolgirl to Oscar Winner

Olivia Colman (born Sarah Caroline Colman on 30 January 1974) is an acclaimed English actress. She trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and rose to fame in the sitcom Peep Show. Colman has also starred in Green Wing, Fleabag and The Crown. Raised in Norwich, she studied at Norwich High School for Girls and Gresham’s School before a term at Cambridge. She adopted the stage name Olivia when she joined Equity in 1999 and has won an Academy Award, four BAFTAs, three Golden Globes, two Emmys and a Volpi Cup. She married writer Ed Sinclair in 2001 and they have three children. Colman has judged the Norwich Film Festival since 2013 and supports various causes, including an open letter condemning violence against trans women.
