Joy Omewa Poised to Join Swedish Champions BK Häcken

Joy Omewa is set to finalise a transfer to Swedish champions BK Häcken, where she will reunite with fellow Super Falcons star Halimat Ayinde ahead of the new season. The 23-year-old left Nottingham Forest after scoring three goals in nine appearances. She first made her mark in Denmark with Boldklubben af 1893 before moving to Fortuna Hjørring, where she netted 22 goals in 24 league matches and helped the club complete a league and cup double. Her overall tally for Hjørring reached 55 league goals and seven in European competition. The move offers Omewa the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and continue her development as she prepares to represent Nigeria at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
