NDLEA Raids Benin Warehouse, Arrests Couple with 412kg of Cannabis

NDLEA operatives in Edo uncovered a warehouse on Sapele Road in Benin City after credible intelligence. They arrested a husband and wife suspected of running a large-scale drug operation. The couple, identified as 32-year-old Christian Chukwuka and his 33-year-old wife Nwanneka, are indigenes of Ndokwa in Delta State. Officers seized 22 bags of skunk cannabis weighing 219.5kg and compressed blocks of Canadian Loud totalling 192.67kg, making a haul of 412.17kg. NDLEA says this bust highlights the urgent fight against drug trafficking in the state. The agency is investigating further and will charge the suspects to court soon. One suspect, Chukwuka, said poverty and unemployment drew him into the trade to support his family of four. He pleaded for a second chance if released.

It's surprising that such a massive operation ran unnoticed until now; surely locals must have noticed something off.

E no make sense to think this single raid will end trafficking; most times these guys just relocate and resume business.
