Group Demands Swift Rehabilitation of Ewohimi–Onicha Ugbo Road After 16 Years of Neglect
Niger Delta Patriots for Community Development has urged the Niger Delta Development Commission to fast-track repairs on the Ewohimi–Idumujie–Ugboko–Onicha Ugbo road. This vital link connects the South East, North Central, Delta, and Edo states. The group warned that 16 years of neglect have left the route full of potholes and unsafe for commuters. Drivers now face longer, costlier, and riskier detours as trade and social ties suffer. It called on the federal government to mandate the NDDC and on Edo and Delta state governments to coordinate a joint rehabilitation plan. Delaying repairs will only drive up costs when the rainy season deepens the damage.
