When We Stay Silent on Kidnappings, We Lose Our Conscience
What happens to our conscience when we ignore injustice? While some families freely celebrated Children’s Day, others mourn in silence, unable to gather because their children remain in captivity. We talk of faith in a Supreme Being who cares for all, yet we forget to act. Our shared humanity demands more than prayers—it calls for compassion and courage. I learned this the hard way when I refused help and lost a friend’s battle. True progress depends on unity, cooperation, and standing up for one another. Today I remember those children held in Ogbomosho and across Nigeria, including Leah Sharibu. We must raise our voices and demand freedom and justice for every child.
