Abisco Declared Winner Amid Alleged Accreditation Irregularities in Alimosho APC Primary

Abisco Declared Winner Amid Alleged Accreditation Irregularities in Alimosho APC Primary — 1 of 4
1 / 4

The APC House of Representatives primary in Alimosho G-North Ward on May 16 ended in confusion amid claims of intimidation and procedural flaws. Supporters of Princess Olabisi Adebajo (Abisco) dominated at St. Andrews Primary School, while her challenger, Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, reportedly gathered elsewhere. Tension rose when the LCDA chairman intervened, appointing an assistant to oversee accreditation and counting. Party members alleged that some voters were counted twice and that vote tallies jumped inexplicably during counting. Heated exchanges forced the exercise to halt before Abisco was later confirmed the winner and APC flag bearer for Alimosho Federal Constituency.

True, unclear accreditation rules and uneven enforcement probably opened door for intimidation and flawed procedures at that primary.

It's odd that Abisco's supporters dominated at St. Andrews despite claims of irregularities affecting Ganiyu Adele Ayuba's accreditation process.

While complaints about intimidation are serious, it's possible procedural hiccups happen in every local primary rather than targeted unfairness.

Observers should recommend independent accreditation checks and clearer guidelines before the next ward primary to rebuild confidence among all stakeholders.
