FG Donates Three Patrol Vehicles to Boost Security on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway
The Federal Government has handed over three new patrol vehicles to the Nigeria Police to strengthen security and curb vandalism along section one of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway. The handover was made by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, covering Lagos and Ogun states. This follows earlier donations of two specially modified patrol vehicles and a state-of-the-art surveillance centre for the Third Mainland Bridge. Police say the additional vehicles have already helped reduce theft of road infrastructure. More than 25 suspects have been arrested and prosecuted, vandalism has dropped to zero in recent weeks, and motorists are reminded to observe the 30 km/h speed limit for everyone’s safety.
