Seven PDP Flagbearers Emerge in Kogi House of Reps Primaries
The PDP in Kogi State has announced the results of its House of Representatives primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. Seven candidates won tickets across the state’s federal constituencies in a peaceful exercise. Abdulrahman Badamasui (Adavi/Okehi), Abdulkadir Ibrahim (Lokoja/Kogi), Muhammed Etudaiye (Okene/Ogori Magongo), Mohammed Idris Lawal (Ajaokuta), Okolo Ikani Benjamin (Dekina/Bassa), Femi Victor Olubiyo (Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu) and Ibigbemi Sesan Samuel (Yagba) emerged victorious. Results for Ankpa and Idah constituencies are still awaited. The state chairman praised the transparent process and urged members to unite behind the flagbearers. In a related development, the PDP faction led by Tanimu Turaki has scheduled a screening session—reportedly to vet former President Goodluck Jonathan as its sole presidential aspirant. Prominent party figures will serve on the screening committee.
