FG Pledges Rescue of All Kidnapped Students and Teachers

FG Pledges Rescue of All Kidnapped Students and Teachers

The Information Minister says the safe return of every abducted child and teacher is the Federal Government’s top priority. He spoke in Abuja at a briefing themed “United Against Terror.” He described school kidnappings as attacks on the nation’s future and vowed that specialised rescue teams will be deployed. President Tinubu also authorised the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards to protect vulnerable communities. The minister highlighted strong coordination between federal and state authorities in intelligence sharing and rescue operations. He urged media outlets to report responsibly and citizens to share credible information with security agencies. Officials added that the NSCDC’s Safe Schools Initiative remains active across the country, with efforts underway to include remote areas.

It's notable that past rescue promises haven't always led to swift releases, so I'm cautious about this new pledge's follow-through.

Without clear strategy, I dey fear this pledge fit end up like previous announcements with no real action.
