Yusuf Brace and Moffi Header Secure 3-0 Unity Cup Final Win for Super Eagles
Alhassan Yusuf struck twice and Terem Moffi added a header as Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated Jamaica 3-0 in the Unity Cup final at The Valley. The win extends Nigeria’s perfect record in the tournament and hands them the trophy for a fourth time. The Eagles booked their spot in the final with a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe, where Femi Azeez scored a brace created by Moffi. Jamaica reached the decider by beating India 2-0 in their semifinal. Yusuf opened the scoring inside three minutes after pouncing on a loose ball. Moffi then doubled the lead in the 59th minute with a towering header from Azeez’s cross. In stoppage time, Yusuf curled home a third goal from Philip Otele’s pass. Earlier, Zimbabwe claimed third place with a 1-0 win over India thanks to a Prince Dube penalty. Both Nigeria and Zimbabwe will use the Unity Cup as preparation for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. Nigeria faces friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June.
