From Crisis Deliverance to Lasting Spiritual Growth

Today's scripture comes from Judges 2:16–19. It shows how Israel repeatedly sinned, faced oppression, cried out, and received deliverance—only to slip back into old ways when each judge died. This pattern echoes our own lives. We often seek God in crisis and enjoy relief, yet drift back into compromise once pressure eases. True spiritual advance is more than a reaction to hardship. It requires lasting change in how we live, love, work, and worship. Prayer: Father, thank You for every deliverance. Grant me grace to advance beyond recurring cycles. Let my freedom be lasting, not temporary, as I choose sustained obedience over seasonal relief, in Jesus' name. For further reflection, read Proverbs 26:11 and Romans 6:1–4. You may also explore Psalms 32–35 and Acts 20:1–16 in your one-year reading plan.
