Club Africain Shock Dakar While FUS Rabat Dominates JCA on Sahara Conference Opener — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The BAL’s Sahara Conference got off to a thrilling start in Rabat as six teams began their push for a playoff spot in Kigali. In their debut, Tunisia’s Club Africain edged Senegal’s ASC Ville de Dakar 85–79 behind 21 points each from Omar Abada and Jesse Jones Jr. The Tunisian side controlled the glass 42–33 and held off a late rally from Samba Fall, who scored 20 for Dakar. Hosts FUS Rabat then asserted themselves with an 85–55 win over Côte d’Ivoire’s JCA Kings. Abdoulaye Harouna led the charge with 16 points, while Anthony Pritchard added 13 and six rebounds. The Kings struggled offensively, shooting just 34 percent. Action resumes today with Nigeria’s Maktown Flyers taking on JCA Kings at 3 p.m. GMT+1, followed by Club Africain versus ASC Ville de Dakar at 6 p.m.

Totally, their solid defence and clutch shots in the final minutes made that six-point win come through!

I'm not convinced it was pure strategy—Ville de Dakar might've been off their game that day.

This win looks impressive, but Club Africain have yet to prove they can maintain that level against stronger Sahara Conference opponents.

I'm not convinced that dominant performances early on guarantee a playoff spot in Kigali; surprises happen every season.
