On April 13, troops under Operation Hadin Kai and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force apprehended three women suspected of aiding Boko Haram/ISWAP in Monguno Local Government Area, Borno State. The suspects – Falmata Abukar (43), Halima Audu (35) and Mairo Abba (17) – were intercepted while travelling from Abari towards Mararaba village in Kukawa LGA. Security officials recovered what they say are insurgent supplies: 12 pairs of uniform materials, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 children’s clothes, a mosquito net, a mat and ₦15,500 cash. The women remain in military custody as investigations continue to determine the extent of their involvement and any links to terrorist networks around the Lake Chad region.
