Tinubu: ‘I Took Over From Myself’ in Buhari-to-Tinubu Transition

Tinubu: ‘I Took Over From Myself’ in Buhari-to-Tinubu Transition

President Bola Tinubu told Renewed Hope Ambassadors coordinators at the Presidential Villa that his government is simply a continuation of his late predecessor’s leadership. He described the late President Buhari as a partner and said, “If I took over from him, is that not from myself?” Tinubu acknowledged the challenges facing Nigeria and urged patience and commitment to ongoing reforms. He encouraged supporters to “live with it, correct it, move on” as the country works through its difficulties. He assured his audience that their sacrifices would pay off and expressed confidence in the future under his vision. Top officials at the meeting included Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC leaders and state governors.

Do you think Tinubu really continues Buhari's vision, or is this more political spin than genuine policy continuity?

Frankly, claiming partnership with Buhari ignores the fresh challenges Tinubu faces—his administration isn't simply a rerun of old strategies.

We should track budget allocations and policy outcomes closely to see if this supposed continuity delivers real results for everyday Nigerians.
