Tinubu Approves N111bn for Akwanga–Jos Highway; Work Begins July 1

President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate release of N111 billion for Section One of the Akwanga–Jos Road, a 125 km stretch set for a July 1 flag-off. Minister of Works Dave Umahi announced this while inspecting sections of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway with National Assembly members. He said the funds will go to CGC for construction of the first leg of the fourth legacy project. Umahi added that designs are already under way for the Gombe–Bauchi Road and the second carriageway of the third legacy route from Ebonyi through Benue, Kogi and Nasarawa to Oweto Bridge. The approvals underline the administration’s commitment to boosting connectivity and economic growth through critical road infrastructure.
