Lagos–Ogun Police Dismantle Goods Diversion Ring, Seize N60 Million in Stolen Products
The Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos arrested nine suspects linked to two criminal syndicates specialising in diverting goods in transit. Officers recovered more than N60 million worth of products during operations in Lagos and Ogun. Investigators say the first syndicate targeted two 45,000-litre molasses trucks bound for Benin. One truck was intercepted in Itokin, Lagos, while the second was recovered at Ogere trailer park in Ogun as suspects searched for a buyer. Each load was valued at about N11 million. A second network diverted a trailer of dairy products loaded in Sagamu and headed for Jos. Detectives uncovered the stash in Ijebu Ode and prevented full disposal, seizing goods worth roughly N28 million. Police are pursuing fleeing accomplices and will arraign the arrested suspects on conclusion of investigations.
