Ibadan Protest Demands Immediate Release of Kidnapped Pupils and Teachers
On Tuesday, hundreds of residents marched through the streets of Ibadan demanding the unconditional release of over 40 pupils and teachers abducted about a month ago in Oriire Local Government Area. The demonstration, held under the banner “Bandits and Terrorists Must Go,” was led by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan. Protesters called on state and federal authorities to step up efforts and rescue the victims without delay. Earlier, members of the Hausa community staged a separate rally in Ibadan, alleging ethnic profiling in the wake of the abductions and calling for fair treatment of all residents.
