Scout Reveals How He Risked His Job to Uncover Young Winger Yohanna

Scout Herish Sadi has shared the dramatic story of discovering Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna. Sadi says he watched Yohanna shine as both a number 10 and on the wing at a local showcase. He immediately called AIK’s CEO and urged a swift €10 million deal, even offering to resign if the youngster didn’t live up to expectations. Yohanna left the Ikon Allah Football Academy in Bauchi for AIK in 2025. He scored four goals in three under-19 matches and soon joined first-team training. He made his senior debut later that year and helped AIK in both league and cup competitions. After Brighton completed his Premier League move, Yohanna also earned a Super Eagles call-up for the Unity Cup. AIK ultimately held him back to finish hamstring rehabilitation before his Nigerian debut.

Spotting a hidden gem like Yohanna sure fires up bold moves, even if that means betting your career.

It's impressive but I wonder if scouting one standout performance really justifies a €10 million deal on the spot.

Isn't it risky to suggest resignation as leverage? Contracts and negotiations are usually more complex than that.

Clubs should diversify scouting reports over multiple matches to reduce pressure and avoid rushed million-euro decisions.
