Singapore to Pay Up to S$600 in Cash Support to 2.4 Million Adults

Singapore will give more than 2.4 million eligible adult citizens a one-off cash payment of S$400 to S$600 from 9 September 2026. The support is intended to reduce pressure from rising living costs. Citizens aged 21 and above may qualify if they live in Singapore, earned no more than S$100,000 in the 2025 assessment year and own no more than one property. The lowest-income recipients and those living in lower-value homes will receive the maximum S$600. Payments will be made automatically, with quicker access for residents who have linked their identity card to PayNow. The package follows earlier vouchers and cash support measures introduced to help households manage higher prices.

The S$400 to S$600 will help, but a one-time payment may not address costs that keep rising month after month.

Eligible residents should check the payment conditions and plan the money around immediate essentials before treating it as extra spending.
