Katsina Police Nab ‘Dukiya’ for Motorcycle Theft, Arrest Man Over ₦243,000 Bribe

Katsina Police Nab ‘Dukiya’ for Motorcycle Theft, Arrest Man Over ₦243,000 Bribe

The Katsina Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old suspect, known locally as “Dukiya,” for the theft of a motorcycle belonging to one Isma’il Ibrahim. Officers from the Anti-Kauraye unit acted on credible intelligence to recover the stolen bike and a master key believed to have facilitated the crime. Investigations revealed that Dukiya conspired with an accomplice named Abba, who is still at large. Police efforts are ongoing to track down Abba and bring him before the court. In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man was detained after offering ₦243,000 to investigators in an attempt to secure Dukiya’s release. The bribe was refused and documented as evidence. The suspect now faces prosecution under Section 118 of the Penal Code for attempting to obstruct justice.
