Former Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu is reportedly pursuing a change of international allegiance from France to Nigeria. Born in France to Nigerian parents, the 22-year-old has played for France’s youth teams but never earned a senior call-up. Recent reports say he has begun the process of obtaining a Nigerian passport and has even been spotted training in Owerri alongside Kelechi Iheanacho. The Rennes academy graduate, now with Galatasaray, is known for his box-to-box play, physical presence and composure on the ball. If FIFA approves the switch, Ugochukwu could bring much-needed depth and competition to Nigeria’s midfield.
