DSS Raises Alarm Over Coordinated Terror Plots in Abuja

DSS Raises Alarm Over Coordinated Terror Plots in Abuja

A classified DSS memo warns of coordinated terror plots against major targets in Abuja. The document names Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Kuje Correctional Centre and other sensitive installations. Security agencies including the Police, Immigration Service and Correctional Service have strengthened measures at airports, custodial centres and public spaces. Joint police and military patrols now cover entry points, transport hubs and key routes. An internal Customs Service memo points to Islamic State West Africa Province, Boko Haram, Ansaru and JNIM as the groups planning attacks. They reportedly aim to free detained insurgents from various facilities. Authorities have not confirmed the memo’s authenticity but have intensified security deployments across the city.

I'm actually impressed that those agencies are talking to each other—like a superhero league coming together to save the day.

Are there existing protocols we know that ensure those agencies share information swiftly?

It's surprising a so-called classified memo would surface publicly if DSS security measures are truly watertight around such threats.

I get the concern, but could this memo also cause more panic than actual benefit for public awareness?

Agencies should intensify checkpoints and intelligence sharing immediately, focusing first on airports and correctional centres named in the memo.
