The Nigerian Navy marked its 70th anniversary at a service in Calabar, pledging to become more adaptable, resilient and technology-driven. Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, represented by Rear Admiral Chidozie Okehie, recalled the Navy’s journey from a coastal guard in 1956 to a fully capable force protecting maritime assets worth billions for national prosperity. He said future operations will align with modern surveillance and platform technologies. Abbas also urged officers to prioritise family welfare, noting its vital role in their lives.
