Troops from Operation Hadin Kai arrested a suspected ISWAP/JAS collaborator in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State on March 27 at around 5:35 p.m. The operation involved the 25 Brigade, 19 Battalion (Mobile) and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force. The suspect, originally from Gwalki village but now living at Hausari IDP camp in Maiduguri, is accused of supporting terrorists in the Damboa area. In a preliminary interview, he claimed to be part of a hybrid force and said he was a repentant terrorist. He later confessed to supplying ammunition to extremist cells in the Timbuktu Triangle through an accomplice named Konto Fatima, believed to be at Aburi IDP camp. The suspect is now in military custody pending further investigations.
