Kano Police Chief Calls on Neighbourhood Watch to Strengthen Crime-Fighting Partnership
The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has urged members of the Neighbourhood Watch Corps to continue working with security agencies under the law. He emphasized the importance of discharging their duties within established rules and regulations. The Neighbourhood Watch Corps was set up by the state government to aid crime prevention at the grassroots. Its members gather and share credible intelligence on criminal activities with police and other security agencies. During a courtesy visit, the Commandant-General of the Corps, Lt. Col. Aminu Yusuf Abdulkareem (Rtd.), and his team praised the police command’s leadership. They pledged to strengthen collaboration through intelligence sharing and community engagement. CP Bakori commended their contributions but reminded them to hand over all arrested suspects for proper investigation and to uphold human rights in every operation.
