Alausa Urges Baze University to Reinvent for Global Excellence as Public Institutions Stabilize
At a reception for new Vice Chancellor Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, Education Minister Dr Tunji Alausa praised Baze University as one of Nigeria’s foremost private institutions. He commended its academic growth, research culture and its role in higher education. The Minister noted that President Tinubu’s reforms are stabilizing public universities and restoring predictable academic calendars. With fewer strikes, private universities must now compete on innovation, global partnerships and practical impact rather than just calendar reliability. Dr Alausa challenged the new leadership to deepen quality, expand postgraduate research and invest in emerging fields like AI, data science, cybersecurity and renewable energy. He urged stronger collaboration with industry to equip graduates with the skills and entrepreneurship needed to address real societal challenges.
