British Funeral Director Faces Jail After 31 Uncremated Bodies Found in Storage
British funeral director Robert Bush could face prison after admitting 67 offences linked to the mishandling of bodies at his Hull funeral business. Police discovered 31 bodies in cold storage in March 2024, although some were meant to have been cremated months earlier. Prosecutors said many were uncovered and in varying stages of decomposition. More than 100 sets of ashes were also found. Families were allegedly given ashes that were not those of their relatives. One mother said her stillborn son's remains were found in a brown envelope almost two years after she believed he had been cremated. Bush has pleaded guilty to offences including preventing lawful and decent burial, theft and fraud. More than 100 victims are expected to give statements during the sentencing hearing.
