Fugitive Accountant Wanted for ₦150m Burglary Arrested at Lagos Airport
Interpol’s National Crime Bureau and Zone 2 Police have arrested a 50-year-old accountant at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. He is accused of masterminding a ₦150 million burglary of his employer’s Ikeja home in July 2025. The suspect, who had fled to Canada after the theft, was red-flagged by Interpol and detained upon his return on June 1, 2026. Police say he used his trusted position and spare keys, handed to him by the victim’s daughter, to break in while the family patriarch was ill. Six accomplices are already in custody, and detectives are tracing buyers who purchased the stolen goods. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police confirmed the suspect made a confession and vowed to prosecute all involved parties.
