Basic toiletries like toilet paper were not readily available, and tap water often failed to run. Smith also highlighted strict and poorly managed meal arrangements. He claims athletes were limited to one chicken bone or half an egg at breakfast, despite their high energy needs. Requests for extra portions were often denied. Despite these frustrations, Smith praised Ghana and said he plans to explore the country once competition ends.
