Mixed Signals from the Tomboys Down the Road
I live close to two girls I’d call tomboys. They dress so much like guys that you’d only notice they’re female because of their figures. Whenever I pass them and say hello, they seem to signal or say something back. We’re all students, though they look a bit older—maybe recent graduates hanging around campus. Yesterday, one caught me completely off guard by staring straight into my eyes as I walked by. I just mumbled “morning” and hurried on. They always wear black, which makes me wonder if they’re part of a cult or something. I’m used to funny encounters with men, but this is different. I’m not sure what to make of their behavior or signals.
