NDC Candidate Slams INEC Over Omission From Enugu North Bye-Election List

NDC Candidate Slams INEC Over Omission From Enugu North Bye-Election List

Mr. Okwudili Ossai, the NDC candidate for the Enugu North Senatorial bye-election, has accused INEC of bias after his name was left off the final list for the June 20 poll. He says the NDC met all nomination requirements and submitted Forms EC9 and EC9C before the June 2 deadline. Ossai argues that INEC, as an impartial referee, had no right to remove him after his complete compliance. The final list released by the Enugu State REC includes only APC, PDP and Boot Party candidates. Ossai says the party is reviewing its legal and political options and will announce its next steps soon. He called on supporters across Nsukka, Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South, Udenu, Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani to remain calm and united, assuring them that the fight for fair representation is not over.

How did INEC manage to omit Ossai's name despite the party meeting all nomination requirements?

Has INEC offered any reason or clarification for leaving out Ossai despite the valid nomination?

It's odd that a candidate who submitted Forms EC9 and EC9C on time still ended up missing from the final list.

Maybe there was a genuine clerical error instead of deliberate bias from INEC.

Parties should double-check all submitted documents with INEC's office well before deadlines to avoid similar issues.
