Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed to Join ADC with Declaration Set for Thursday
Governor Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State leader and PDP Governors’ Forum chair, hinted at leaving the PDP for the African Democratic Congress. He received an ADC delegation led by former SGF Babachir Lawal at the Government House on Tuesday. He blamed persistent crises within the PDP and failed reconciliation efforts for considering a switch. He also explored an APC platform but felt unwelcome. Among the parties he approached, ADC proved the most accepting. The governor said a final decision would be made by Thursday and an official defection declaration would follow soon. He stressed the need to engage key stakeholders to avoid mistakes. Mohammed accused FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of deepening PDP divisions. He said talks with APC leaders and President Tinubu had not resolved the impasse. Lawal added that the ADC visit aims to unite opposition forces ahead of the 2027 elections.
