IAUE Vice-Chancellor Commissions New Waste Bins, Hands Them Over to RIWAMA
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Okechukwu Onuchukwu, on Wednesday, May 6, commissioned three new waste receptacles along the Rumuolumeni axis as part of the university’s 44th convocation ceremonies. He officially handed over the bins to the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) to curb indiscriminate dumping on road medians and boost waste collection efforts. The VC urged both public and private organizations to support RIWAMA’s mandate and maintain a clean, healthy campus. RIWAMA Managing Director Dr. Ibimina Wokoma thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his mentorship and commitment. He promised to deploy monitoring teams for proper waste disposal and appealed to the Rumuolumeni Divisional Police Officer to help enforce the anti-dumping directive.
