Regional Breakdown: Preliminary Support for Tinubu, Obi and Atiku in 2027 Polls
A recent poll reveals regional support levels for Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, Tinubu leads in most South West and North West states, Obi dominates the South East, and Atiku maintains pockets of strength in the North. South South results vary by state, with Tinubu at 45% in Cross River, 50% in Akwa Ibom, 60% in Delta, 30% in Edo, 40% in Bayelsa and 50% in Rivers. In the South East, Obi commands commanding leads of 89% in Enugu, 65% in Anambra, 80% in Imo, 70% in Abia and 78% in Ebonyi. In the South West, Tinubu’s share ranges from 50% to 75%, Obi from 10% to 45% and Atiku from 5% to 35%. North Central polls show Tinubu at 30%–60%, Obi 10%–55% and Atiku 15%–35%. North West results place Tinubu between 35% and 55%, Obi between 5% and 40%, and Atiku between 20% and 45%. In the North East, support spans Tinubu 25%–60%, Obi 5%–30% and Atiku 30%–60%.
