Bolt CEO Fires Entire HR Team for ‘Creating Problems That Didn’t Exist’
Bolt’s co-founder and CEO Ryan Breslow recently defended his decision to scrap the entire HR department. He said the team was more suited to larger firms in “peacetime” conditions. When he let them go, the problems they had been raising simply vanished. As part of its latest cost-cutting push, the US fintech firm cut roughly 30% of staff in April. The company has since set up a smaller “people operations” unit focused on training and efficiency. Breslow added that an “entitlement” culture had taken hold, and those who wouldn’t adapt had to be let go. He also announced a shift toward a leaner, AI-centric model for 2026.
