Lionel Richie Abruptly Ends St. Paul Concert After Feeling Unwell

Music legend Lionel Richie was forced to cut his show short at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul when he began feeling dizzy during “Dancing on the Ceiling.” He managed to finish “Three Times a Lady” at the piano before stepping away. Saxophonist Dino Soldo later informed the audience that Richie was unwell and could not continue. The incident occurred on opening night of his North American tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, which runs through mid-August with stops in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. There’s no official update on his condition yet.

A sudden health scare happens, but maybe the arena's heat and lighting contributed more than we realize.

Organizers should consider on-site medical screenings and better climate control to prevent disruptive incidents in future shows.
