Tinubu Marks Three Years in Office: From Economic Reform to Infrastructure Breakthroughs
My fellow compatriots, three years ago you entrusted me with the responsibility of leading our nation at a critical moment. I accepted that duty knowing the scale of our challenges but confident in the resilience and potential of the Nigerian people. When we assumed office, Nigeria faced unsustainable fuel subsidies costing ₦18.4 bn daily and multiple exchange-rate distortions that drained over ₦8 tn. We chose reform over convenience to stabilise our economy, rebuild public finances, and restore investor confidence. Today, we see visible progress: the stock market’s All Share Index rose from 53,000 to 250,000, 2,700 km of highways are under construction or rehabilitation, rail modernisation is advancing, and power and telecom investments are expanding. Our agriculture, education loan fund, housing programme, and healthcare initiatives are empowering millions nationwide. This journey requires unity, hope, and continued sacrifice. Let us remain disciplined and united in purpose as we build a secure, prosperous, and inclusive Nigeria for all.
