President Julius Maada Bio Departs Abuja After Celebrating General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s 84th Birthday
President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone has departed Nigeria after joining celebrations for former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s 84th birthday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. During the event at the Banquet Hall over the weekend, President Bio praised General Abdulsalami for guiding Nigeria’s transition from military rule to democracy in 1999. He also extended wishes for good health and continued service to humanity. Dr Onyeka Nwafor, CEO of Yennco World Trade and member of the Nigerian–Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, saw President Bio off. He reaffirmed plans to strengthen trade and bilateral cooperation. Among those present were Vice President Kashim Shettima; former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan; former Head of State Yakubu Gowon; Niger’s Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine; and Secretary to the Government George Akume.
