PDP Crisis ‘Self-Inflicted’, Says Abba Moro Blames Governors and Lawmakers

In an ARISE News interview, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro argued that the turbulence within the Peoples Democratic Party is driven by its own members, not external forces. He singled out governors, lawmakers and senior party figures for stoking recurring crises. Moro insisted that political actors bear the main responsibility for instability. “I believe the responsibility lies mainly with political actors,” he said, noting that visible turmoil stems from their internal dynamics. He rejected claims of a split within the PDP, affirming “There is only one PDP.” Moro also recalled the controversial Ibadan convention, which defied a court order and was later invalidated by the Court of Appeal, saying it worsened the party’s challenges.
