12 Partygoers Jailed for Spraying Naira at Warri Celebration

A Federal High Court in Warri has sentenced 12 individuals for tampering with the naira by spraying notes during a birthday party. They were prosecuted by the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate for violating Section 21(3) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007. All defendants pleaded guilty. Eleven received six months’ imprisonment or a N150,000 fine each. One individual got six months or a N200,000 fine. They have all undertaken in writing to maintain good conduct. On the same day, Justice Nganjiwa ordered the forfeiture of seven luxury cars seized from convicted internet fraudsters. The vehicles will be handed over to the Federal Government.
