PRP Denies Kwankwaso Bought 69 Nomination Forms in Kano

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has refuted claims that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso purchased 69 nomination forms in Kano State. PRP National Chairman Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed called the allegation “complete fiction” and questioned the credibility of the source. Baba-Ahmed clarified that the party only issues forms in Abuja and that the alleged seller in Kano holds no position within the PRP. He said genuine candidates from Kano already registered through proper channels and had their names forwarded to INEC. Addressing party unity, he insisted the PRP has moved past internal disputes over its convention and is gearing up for the 2027 elections. He also dismissed a recent court challenge as a normal democratic process rather than evidence of instability. Looking ahead, the PRP plans to launch its manifesto soon and aims to present fresh solutions for Nigeria’s security and development challenges.

Do you think this denial by the PRP clears up confusion about Kwankwaso's intentions in Kano, or is there more behind these form counts?

I think so too, the denial does clear up part of the confusion, even if some details still feel murky.

It's curious that such a claim would surface without any documented proof, especially when Baba-Ahmed highlights the original source's credibility issues.

Before we accept the PRP statement, shouldn't we consider if political rivals might spin this denial to appear more transparent?

Ignoring the noise around nomination counts, it's vital to monitor actual campaign policies and grassroots engagement in Kano moving forward.
