IPMAN Hails Gov Soludo’s Suspension of Divine Rapture over Marketer Harassment

IPMAN Hails Gov Soludo’s Suspension of Divine Rapture over Marketer Harassment

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria praised Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for suspending Divine Rapture Ltd after it invaded and harassed petroleum outlets in Anambra State. The action followed a meeting between the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, IPMAN, and PEDAN in Awka. IPMAN Chairman Chinedu Anyaso said the decision shows the state government is listening and committed to enforcing industry standards. He thanked the commissioner for intervening and assured that marketers will work closely with the ministry to ensure compliance. Anyaso also welcomed a new consolidated revenue levy for marketers, noting that it will eliminate multiple charges and reduce conflicts with various government agencies.

This should give marketers more confidence, knowing governor has their back on harassment issues.

It's interesting that IPMAN praised the suspension so quickly, but does this really address the root causes of marketer harassment?

You're right, applause for suspension sounds good, but the bigger issue of harassment culture still needs real solutions.

I'm not convinced halting Divine Rapture's operations fully solves the issue; enforcement consistency and accountability seem more crucial.

Authorities should set clear guidelines for marketer conduct and ensure impartial inspections to prevent future incidents.
