EBSU Good Ambassador Award: EBOTRANS GM Nnenna Igwe Dedicates Honour to Staff and Students

EBSU Good Ambassador Award: EBOTRANS GM Nnenna Igwe Dedicates Honour to Staff and Students

At the Faculty of Education’s second international conference on July 15, EBOTRANS General Manager Nnenna Igwe received the Good Ambassador Award from Ebonyi State University. She thanked the Faculty and dedicated the honour to the hardworking staff of EBOTRANS and the students whose encouragement has inspired her. Igwe also praised Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s transformational leadership. She noted that his People’s Charter of Needs agenda has fostered excellence, innovation and human capital development across the state. Under her stewardship, EBOTRANS has opened new routes to Lagos, Enugu, Ikom and other destinations. The company has rehabilitated over a dozen vehicles, renewed tenancy for 17 depots, installed solar lighting, drilled a borehole and procured new vehicles. She added that safety and professionalism remain a priority. EBOTRANS collaborates with the FRSC on driver training and works with AE-FUTHA for regular medical examinations.

I wonder what inspired Nnenna Igwe's leadership approach at EBOTRANS and how students felt about her dedication speech?

While her dedication to staff and students is admirable, such university honours can sometimes serve more as networking gestures.

Acknowledging her success is fine, but overpraising routine honours could diminish real excellence over time.

Universities should publish detailed criteria for such awards, so stakeholders understand exactly why individuals like GM Igwe qualify.
