BDC Operator Testifies on ₦80.2bn Naira-Dollar Conversions Involving Bello’s Associate

A Bureau de Change operator, Jamilu Abdullahi, told the Federal High Court in Abuja that large naira lodgments were converted into US dollars for Abba Adaudu, an associate of former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello. Abdullahi, called as prosecution Witness 12 by the EFCC, detailed multiple deposits into E-Traders International and other accounts between October 2021 and February 2022. He confirmed converting funds totalling hundreds of millions of naira and handing the dollars directly to Adaudu at offices in Abuja. Defence counsel objected to what they saw as self-contradiction, but the court adjourned to April 24, 2026, to rule on the objection and continue the money laundering trial.
