Three UNICROSS Students’ Union Executives Killed in Calabar Auto Crash

The University of Cross River State Students’ Union Director of Sports, Solomon Nya, and two other executives died in an accident on the evening of May 1 in Odukpani, on Calabar’s outskirts. Several other students were seriously injured. An eyewitness told Vanguard the Students’ Union President remains unconscious in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital emergency unit. Some female passengers suffered limb amputations at the crash scene. The bodies of the two executives who died on impact have been deposited at the UCTH mortuary. The university has yet to release an official statement, likely delayed by the recent public holiday and weekend.
