Tinubu Pledges to Rescue Kidnapped Children and Teachers in Oyo and Borno
President Bola Tinubu says his government will not abandon families of children and teachers still held captive in Oyo and Borno. He made this vow as Nigeria marks Children’s Day alongside Eid-el-Kabir. Under the theme Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child, the president directed security agencies to intensify intelligence-driven rescue operations focused on safe recovery. He assured that those behind the abductions will face justice. New measures will strengthen security around schools. These include updated vulnerability mapping, rapid emergency response systems and community-based early warning networks. Beyond rescue efforts, Tinubu stressed the need for rehabilitation, counselling and medical care for freed children. He called on parents, teachers, community leaders and the media to share information quickly and help protect every child.
