Joe Anani Takes Helm as New Controller at Tincan Island Port Command
The Nigeria Customs Service has appointed Comptroller Joe Anani as the new Controller at the Tincan Island Port Command in Lagos. His predecessor, Frank Onyeka, has been promoted to Assistant Comptroller General and redeployed to Customs Headquarters in Abuja. In his farewell address, ACG Onyeka thanked the Comptroller-General and stakeholders for their support. He highlighted significant achievements under his leadership, including N1.6 trillion in revenue for 2025, over N401 billion collected in Q1 2026, and anti-smuggling interceptions worth more than N35 billion. Anani, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him. He praised Onyeka’s accomplishments and pledged to build on those gains. He emphasized professionalism, transparency, and an open-door policy to foster collaboration with officers, agencies, and the trading community. The handover ceremony was attended by senior customs officers, representatives of sister agencies, maritime stakeholders, and members of the press.
