Find Hidden LinkedIn Job Opportunities Early

Many job seekers only check the Jobs tab on LinkedIn, but by the time you see postings, hundreds may have already applied. Recruiters, founders, and business owners often make regular posts when they need someone — and those don’t always appear in the Jobs section. To find these hidden leads, type phrases like “Looking for a content writer,” “Need a virtual assistant,” or “Hiring a video editor” into the search bar. Then select Posts and sort by Most Recent to catch fresh opportunities. Read each post’s instructions carefully. Some ask you to email, complete a form, drop your portfolio, or comment under the post. If no clear instruction is given, send a brief connection request mentioning the role and your relevant experience. Try this method yourself and share what you find here.

Has anyone tracked regular LinkedIn posts from founders instead of just the Jobs tab? Did it give you any head start on applications?

That's an interesting strategy—were you focusing on posts from specific founders or across industries to spot opportunities earlier?

It seems most candidates really stick to the Jobs tab, missing out on early alerts from direct company posts and casual updates.

I no sure say shaking off the Jobs tab alone go land you those hidden roles; e still depends on how you network with founders.

Try setting up notifications for company and founder page posts, then allocate ten minutes daily to scan them for early openings.
