JAMB Moves First-Session Arrival Time to 7:00am for 2026 UTME

JAMB Moves First-Session Arrival Time to 7:00am for 2026 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board now requires first‐session candidates to arrive by 7:00am instead of 6:30am. Exams will run from 8:30am to 10:30am. This adjustment responds to concerns over the stress and safety risks of very early travel. JAMB has also issued a full timetable with four sessions daily from April 16 to April 25. Do you think the later reporting time will ease pressure and boost performance? Share your thoughts below.

Absolutely. Starting at 7:00am should lighten morning rush, help students arrive safely without panic.

Starting at 7am feels more considerate, giving candidates less rush and a calmer environment before exams.

Moving the schedule half an hour later sounds reasonable, but it may not prevent morning traffic jams and anxiety as intended.

JAMB says safety is concern, but isn't starting at 8:30am still too early for many candidates traveling long distances?
