Seven Teams Confirmed for 2026 World Cup Round of 32 as Five Face Early Exit

The race for Round of 32 berths at the expanded 48-team 2026 World Cup is gathering pace. Under the new format, the 12 group winners and runners-up qualify automatically, with the eight best third-placed sides joining them. So far, seven nations have clinched their spots. Mexico (Group A), United States (D), Germany (E), France and Norway (I), Argentina (J) and Colombia (K) all booked their places after strong starts. Five teams have already been eliminated. Haiti (C), Turkey (D), Tunisia (F), Jordan (J) and Panama (L) exit the tournament early. The final round of group fixtures will decide who fills the remaining knockout slots.
